Green Bay Packers vs New England Patriots Sportsbook odds and predictions

Earlier in the NFL regular season, this matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the New England patriots would have been a possible preview of the Super Bowl, but heading into week 15 it is looking more like another easy win for the red hot Patriots.

Over the past two weeks of the season, NFL MVP candidate quarterback Tom Brady and company have just put on a clinic against two of the best defenses in the NFL in the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears. With two dominant victories in a row against these lockdown defenses, the New England Patriots have proven that they are without a doubt the best team in the NFL right now.

The Patriots may still have a ways to go before they can be considered a great defensive team as their young players on the defensive side of the football are still a little wet behind the ears, but with Bill Belichick’s offense playing the way they have been, I really can’t see any team stopping them from here on out.

As for the Green Bay Packers they have just fallen apart as of late with an injury plagued season that has just come to head with perennial Pro bowl quarterback Aaron Rodgers going down last week with another concussion. Not only did they lose to the lowly Detroit Lions last week, but with Rogers playing status up in the air from here on out the package season might be over.

Even though the Green Bay Packers are arguably one of the best offenses teams in the league when healthy, I believe they will be blown out this weekend at Gillette Stadium as the New England Patriots just cruise through another victory.

Formula 1 descending into further farce

The latest revolutionary idea to win back old fans and encourage new ones to come out of the powers that be in charge of Formula One is the introduction of more sparks. That’s right, the World Motorsport Council, the highest committee of the FIA, has in its august wisdom, spent time and money on developing a brilliant idea to make the sport of F1 more exciting. The cars will have titanium plates, already tested and approved, fitted to them. These plates will result in the flying of sparks on turns and whatnot, a special effect that will undoubtedly reinvigorate a sport going through a bit of a tough patch. This is the latest innovation from those who brought us the ear-horn type device that has the equivalent cost of a small house and plugs into an F1 car’s exhaust pipe to recreate the ‘roar’ that the less technologically advanced cars of yesteryear had.

While the governing body of the ailing motorsport focuses on a somewhat baffling belief that a few special effects will transform the sport’s fortunes the level of actual competition continues to decline. While every sport has its favourites and consistently top performers, usually in cycles, it is the element of uncertainty as to the outcome which makes sport exciting. A perfect case in point is the current World Cup. Audiences have been enthralled and are hailing it as the best World Cup in recent memory. Why? Certainly the volume of goals scored is important but what has really got fans salivating is the shock factor of the established powers being regularly given a good spanking by the minnows. This is something that has been sorely missing in F1 for quite some time.

The whole structure of the sport seems to be set up to ensure that the big four teams have unchallenged success. The rest are just there to make up the numbers while Bernie cuddles up with his friends at Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes. This is partly because of their threats a couple of years ago to break away and run F1 for themselves, but it is mainly that the sport relies so much on the cash put in by those four teams. It is however hugely short-sighted both by F1 and by the big teams. Perhaps that shouldn’t be a surprise from an organisation who’s 84 year old chief recently commented that this internet and social media nonsense is a passing fad.

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals odds and predictions Christmas Day Football

Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals odds and predictions Christmas Day Football
The Dallas Cowboys have been arguably one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season as they have failed to live up to their Super Bowl title contender expectations and will not even make the playoffs. Despite their expectations being shattered even before midseason, America’s Team were able to get a boost of confidence just after midseason when Jerry Jones decided to fire head coach Wade Phillips and promote offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

So even though the Dallas Cowboys won’t be the first team to play and host a Super Bowl this season, they have played surprisingly well as of late with a new sense of confidence on both sides of the football. One thing that veteran quarterback Jon Kitna and company won’t like moving forward is that they will have to play on Christmas Day against a lowly Arizona Cardinals squad despite playing for virtually nothing. The odds are pretty consistent across most sports books, but Bodog would be our choice for thisNFL football betting matchup.

Fortunately, the Dallas Cowboys have been getting some love from the odds makers as they are -6.5 favorites to come out on top in this matchup and for good reason as the Arizona Cardinals been absolutely no chance of even make a game of it.

With the Cowboys firing on all cylinders on both sides of the football right now, especially offense, Dallas should just cruise to victory while covering the -6.5 spread.

The Arizona Cardinals are coming off yet another disappointing loss in Week 15 against arguably the worst team in the league in the Carolina Panthers, but they still have some potent offensive weapons that the Dallas Cowboys will be paying attention to in perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and running back Tim Hightower.

No matter what the Cardinals throw at the Cowboys though, I believe Dallas should get the win with relative ease.

Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings sportsbook odds and predictions

The Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings are two teams in the NFC North division that have one hell of a bitter division rivalry, but unlike earlier in the season when the Vikings were in playoff contention or last year when Brett Favre was having an MVP caliber season, this time around Jay Cutler and company will come in as the better team on both sides of the football.

There is no question the Chicago Bears are arguably one of the best defensive teams in the league this season, but it has taken a while for them to get their offense going to Jay Cutler is still working out the kinks under center. We like Bodog for this NFL football betting matchup wagers.

Despite coming off one of the worst losses of the season to the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears will be extremely confident coming into this NFC North showdown as they will be playing outside in the bitterly cold weather in which will turn this matchup into a game won on the defensive end.

With that being said and the fact that both Brett Favre (shoulder) and backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson (out for the season) will most likely not be playing in this game, this NFC North battle will almost certainly be a blowout in my opinion as the Minnesota Vikings stand no chance with rookie quarterback Joe Webb leading the way.

With this win, the Chicago Bears will basically wrap up the NFC North division and be playoff bound as the Green Bay Packers will most likely fall to the New England Patriots, but a loss for the Minnesota Vikings will be just another disappointment for a season that has been an absolute disaster for Brett Favre and company.

Baltimore Ravens a 3 point favorite over Cleveland Browns

The Baltimore Ravens are without a doubt one of the best teams in the league this season as they have finally been able to compliment their lockdown defense with a potent offense, but despite playing extremely well throughout the entire regular season, the Ravens are still sitting behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North division.

With a win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 16, the Baltimore Ravens will greatly improve their chances of contending for the AFC North division title and getting back into the playoffs, but they may have their work cut out for them this weekend as they will be taking on one of the best young running backs in the league in Peyton Hillis.

The Browns best threat against the tough defense of the Ravens is without a doubt the hardnosed running of Hillis, but he is listed questionable right now with an undisclosed injury. Even though questionable is never a good playing status to get from arguably your best player, the team is confident he will be on the field this Sunday.

As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens are the favorites to come out on top in this matchup, but only by a small margin as they have been just a -3 point edge.

With that being said, the Browns aren’t being underestimated this week as they have beaten some of the best teams in the league this season like the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots, but I am not sure if they can contend with the Baltimore Ravens who are still in the running for the AFC North division title and will be fighting for their playoff lives.
